winter storm & eucalyptus oil

Last week, Charlotte was hit by a winter storm. And just in case you didn’t know, Southerners do not function well in freezing ice cold snowy weather.

Most of the city was shut down. This is usually a good thing for me because I get to catch up on life.

But not this time. I was also hit with the worst, and I did say worst, sinus infection I’ve ever had in my life. (I will spare you the details…) I tried EVERYTHING in my medicine cabinet, but to no avail. I was only left with severe sinus pressure under my eyes. (If you suffer from allergies, you know exactly what I mean.)

That’s when I thought of a pretty dope idea—adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil to my vanilla scented candle. I’ve used eucalyptus oil in the past as a natural remedy for decongestion, but I’ve never thought of making something sweet and spa like out of it.

This turned my inexpensive vanilla candle into one of those expensive aromatherapy candles, and I can’t forget to mention the sinus relief and calming vibe in my bedroom. Cold weather ailment? You have to try this! Or personalize it to your own liking with peppermint or lavender.
